TOKYO - Nissan sank into a loss for the fiscal third quarter and forecast its first full-year loss in nearly a decade on Monday, forcing Japan's third-biggest automaker to slash 20,000 jobs, or 8.5 percent of its global work force.

東京-月曜日、日産は第3四半期の赤字と、およそ10年ぶりとなる通年での赤字見通しを公表した。これに伴い、日本で3番目に大きい自動車メーカーである、日産は2万人の人員削減を強いられる。世界での同社の人員の8.5％に相当する。

"The global auto industry is in turmoil, and Nissan is no exception," Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn told reporters in Tokyo.

「世界の自動車産業は混乱状態にある。日産も例外ではない」と、CEOのカルロス・ゴーンは東京で語った。

Nissan Motor Co. now expects a 265 billion yen ($2.9 billion) net loss for the fiscal year through March -- the first time in nine years it's tumbling into an annual loss.

日産は2,650億円（29億ドル）の損失を、2009年3月期通年で見込んでいる。この9年で初めての通年での損失に転落する。
